Security & Data Handling — Monitorwise
Monitorwise checks configured URLs from outside, similar to an external visitor or checker. It does not require plugins, CMS admin access, or payment card handling inside Monitorwise.
How monitoring works
Monitorwise performs configured checks against URLs you add: uptime, TLS expiry, content drift, critical elements, and contact path visibility according to your settings. The one-page website audit uses a single GET request with a short timeout — no crawl, no form submission, and no plugin install on the target site.
Contact path checks
Contact path checks watch whether configured forms, CTA text, booking links, or selectors are present on the page. They do not submit live forms or complete bookings. The goal is visibility — to catch missing or broken paths before clients notice.
Monitoring limitations
Monitorwise records configured monitoring signals and proof history. It helps you catch and document issues earlier, but it does not guarantee zero downtime, zero lost leads, or full QA coverage.
What Monitorwise is not
Monitorwise is not a vulnerability scanner, penetration test, malware scanner, web application firewall, full accessibility audit, legal compliance audit, or replacement for backups, hosting support, or your own QA process.
Data we store
To provide the service, Monitorwise stores account email, configured monitor URLs, check results, TLS expiry signals, incident history, content and selector change signals, contact path visibility results, proof report content, notification settings, and related account configuration. We store what is needed to run checks, send alerts, show dashboards, and publish status or proof links you enable.
Payments
Stripe handles payment details for paid plans. Monitorwise does not store full card numbers. We receive limited billing identifiers (for example customer and subscription IDs) to activate your plan and show billing status in your account.
Passwords
Account passwords are stored as one-way hashes, not as plain text. Use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials private. Contact support@monitorwise.io if you suspect unauthorized access.
Alert delivery and sensitive configuration
Operational alert and digest emails are sent according to your account settings. Notification destinations may include email addresses and, on supported plans, webhook routing. Alert destinations and webhook URLs, if saved, should be treated as sensitive configuration — they can receive operational data about your monitors. Alert mail is sent from our configured sending address when available; replies to alert mail are not monitored as a support channel.
Public links
Public status pages, public proof links, and audit share links are only public when you create or enable them. Unpublished monitors and private account data are not exposed through those links. Review what you share before sending links to clients or prospects.
Hosting and infrastructure
Monitorwise is hosted with Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. Server logs may include technical connection data (for example IP address, timestamp, and user agent) needed to operate the service reliably and securely. See our Privacy Policy for GDPR details.
Data minimization
Monitorwise stores account data, configured URLs, check results, incidents, alerts, reports, and settings needed to provide the service. We do not build advertising profiles from your monitoring activity. Support messages are used only to handle your request.
Cookies and analytics
Signed-in use relies on a session cookie. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies on the marketing site. See the Privacy Policy for cookie and legal-basis details.
Proof reports and proof links
Proof reports and public proof links summarize configured monitoring signals — what was watched, what recovered, and what still needs setup. They reflect configured checks and limitations: they do not replace full QA, prove form delivery, or guarantee zero downtime.
