For GDPR purposes, the controller for Monitorwise is Szabolcs Gal, BSc. “Monitorwise” is the product name; the controller is the natural person named here, not a separate organisation.

Account and service data

When you register, we process your email address and account credentials (stored as a password hash) to operate your account. When you configure monitors, we process configured URLs, check settings, check results, incident history, alert and report data (including proof reports and proof links), notification destinations, and monitoring results needed to run checks, store incidents, send notifications, and show dashboards and public status pages you enable.

Legal bases include Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract / steps before contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (operating and securing the service).

Support and email contact

If you email support@monitorwise.io, we use your message only to handle your request. No advertising profiles are built from support mail.

Legal bases: Art. 6(1)(b) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We keep messages only as long as needed for the request, unless longer retention is required by law.

Automated alert emails

Monitorwise can send automated alert, recovery, and digest emails when checks fail or recover. Those messages are operational notifications, not marketing. They are typically sent from alerts@monitorwise.io when that address is configured as the sending mailbox in our email provider settings. Replies to alert mail are not monitored as a support channel; use support@monitorwise.io instead.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (delivering the monitoring service you signed up for).

Billing

Paid plans are processed by Stripe. Payment and subscription data needed for billing are handled under Stripe’s terms and privacy notice as an independent processor. We receive limited billing identifiers (for example customer and subscription IDs) to activate your plan.

Session and technical cookies

Signed-in use relies on a session cookie so you stay logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies on the marketing site.

Legal basis for the session cookie: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the account) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (security).

Hosting and server logs

Hosting provider: Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany. The host processes technical connection data (for example IP address, timestamp, user agent) where required to operate the service reliably and securely.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Retention

We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed for the purposes above, except where law requires longer storage (for example tax records).

Your rights and complaints

Where the GDPR applies, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Contact support@monitorwise.io to exercise them.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria: Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.

Changes

We update this notice when processing or legal requirements change. The version published on this website applies.
